the gym facilities were excellent.
The ongoing refurbishment on floors meant lots of noise in rooms between 8am and 6pm, and i was only told about this upon check in. the hotel scent is very overpowering. It gave me a migraine (i really wasn't happy).

the breakfast had a lovely selection. the staff were very friendly and helpful, doing a great job of clearing used plates from tables. i found the omelette to be fantastic (i love omelettes!).
The pool water was dirty. during check in, no one asked if i had any baggage. no one took me to my room. I was just given the key and told the lift number (i thought that was unusual for a 5-star place).
